Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai after she tested positive for Covid-19. She was taken into ICU and showed a sigh of improvement.
However, her condition deteriorated further and, the singer was put under aggressive therapy But unfortunately, she passed away because of multi-organ failure.
The Demise of Lata Mangeshkar marks the end of an era in the Indian Music Industry but, her songs will remain immortal.
As the nation mourns people, from across all fraternities, politicians, celebrities and fans posted their condolence messages on Social Media.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote; "I consider it my honour that I have always received immense affection from Lata Didi. My interactions with her will remain unforgettable. I grieve with my fellow Indians on the passing away of Lata Didi. Spoke to her family and expressed condolences. Om Shanti."
The Government of India also announced two-day national mourning will be observed and, the national flag will fly at half-mast.
